    Journalist/Photographer

I’m passionate about living life to the fullest, so capturing what I encounter through my photography, even though it’s really only a brief moment in time, makes sense to me.

My outlook on life can be summed up in two words - Carpe Diem, a phrase from Horaces’ poem, Ode to Leuconoe. But another, also written by Horace so long ago, is Memento mori, an even more appropriate dictum to live by. This Latin phrase translates as, “remember that you are mortal,” “remember you will die,” “remember that you must die,” or “remember your death.”

Or, as the late Steve Jobs, founder of Apple computers and all things Mac is quoted as saying, “Remembering that you’re going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose.” Source: Mourning Steve Jobs: The Purpose of Public Grief posted by Meghan O’Rourke, October 6, 2011, The New Yorker magazine.
